History of the Indiana Bandits Youth Foundation

Our History

Heading into its 17th season, the Foundation's goal is to develop a "character for success" for all of its members. Whether on the softball/baseball field, in the classroom, or at home, our character defines all of us. The mission statement of the Bandits has always been to understand how important it is to do the little things right, on the field and, more importantly, off the field. Priority to the basic fundamentals, knowledge of the game, playing the game the right way with passion and sacrificing self-interests, are some of the unwritten policies that each member must adhere to.

The 2012-2013 season brings many exciting changes to our club since its inception in 1996.  Through the faithfulness of our Lord, we are moving from our namesake location to a new state of the art indoor facility at the southwest corner of 200 W and US Hwy 40 in Greenfield.  The facility contains two infields, six batting cages, and two bullpens.  The facility offers heating and air conditioning for all season use as well as athletic lighting for optimal use.  Along with this facility will be our outdoor fields located at 400 W and SR 9 (one and half miles north of  I-70) in Greenfield.  The plan for construction of two 245-ft baseline fields is underway.  Our plans also include the addition of a third field equaling that of the first two, and a fourth field that meets High School Regulation requirements as funds permit.  There will be a center Press Tower/Concession/Restroom facility also constructed during the construction of fields 1 & 2.

To date, over fifty alumni have participated in college baseball programs; two players have been selected to play for Team Usa Jr. and Collegiate Olympic teams; five alumni have been drafted by Major League Baseball teams while three are playing in the MiLB or MLB. In 2009 our 14U team captured the first ever World Series event as it won the CABA championship in Tennessee.
